Shai and Ronald's outdoor photoshoot

Shai and Ronald have two photoshoot, this is the outdoor, I really white over green-nature-inspired background.

That's all for now :)

10.25.2011

It's been awhile

I've been quite busy with things at work and other stuff like a few photoshoot with friends and what not.
CapHRIchoS team finished 2 photoshoot for Shai and Ronald as part of their wedding prenup. The indoor and outdoor. I'll post a few pics once I've finished uploading it.

Well it's almost halloween.I've been wanting to create a scary look and a not so scary look for halloween but I guess I have no time to buy a few stuff. I'd like to recreate Karina's zombie look my own version. Well.. we'll see if I can squeeze it to my not so busy lifestyle.

Hasta la vista!

Erliene's Photoshoot

Last night we did another photoshoot, this time with a hot mom, Erliene. Our churchmate's wife. She's got pretty deep set eyes and the clothes are fantastic, I personally love the purple one on her. This is just the first leg of the shoot. We're gonna have another one outside our so called AMK studio hehehe.

Here are a few photos:

Out of boredom, I made a look that I don't know where I got hahaha.. I guess it reminds me of the ancient egyptian pharaoh. Again and again... sorry for the photo's resolution I've been using the web camera of my macbook since my hubby is not available at times I do my look, aside from the bad lighting where my laptop is placed.

Here you go... I don't have falsies still.. I promise on my next looks I would put falsies to enhance the look.

This one is edited..

Happy Dance!! Happy Friday!

I am so happy because my favorite make up artist of all time Jung Saemool ( korean) confirmed me as Friend. I didn't expect it since her profile is very very limited. She just recently launch her own Makeup Brand MULE and I can't wait to get one no matter how expensive it will be! hahahaha.. She's a very artistic makeup artist that enahnces what you have and doesn't over do the make up and that is what I like about her.. I am happy she even commented on my post!! Thanks Jung Saem Mool!!

Here are a few photo transformation she did with her talented hand.. She's my inspiration to do well with my craft for make up artistry.. Less is More.. Visit her website and see more photos www.jungsamemool.com

Fall to Winter 2011 Beauty Trends

I was browsing over the fashion websites like harpers bazaar and our vanity. I saw the looks for this Fall and Winter (though it never snow in Singapore) or should I say the look for the last quarter of the year till early 2012.

All reviews from these sites are straight from the runway.

Fall/Winter trends are more invative. It goes from barely there makeup look, to bright bold contradicting vampy lips and oh so neutral smokey metallics to a warm orangey eyes. Top it off with brighter looking eyes with great mascara and more thicker cat line The trends for this season is really classy and sophisticated with a touch of hype.

1. Nude make up trends - This is one of my favorite, most of the presented runway look this fall/winter is the barely-there make up trend. Which is everyone knows my fave. I like the fact that it just accentuates and enahnce the beauty that is already within the model. It is fresh and natural. As always "less is more" never goes out of style.

Barely-there Nude on runway, celebrities with different race and colors it still trendy and fresh looking for anyone.

Runway models and celebrities with no make up-makeup :)

 2. Vampy Lips - From the looks of it, if there is nude, there would definitely be vivid, bright colors. That goes to contradict the natural looking make up. Runway models at some instance show case their vampire-looking lips of different colors. The lips from bright red to even fuschia almost purple shade are all over the runway too. I guess it compliments the nudeness of a face make up better.

3. Thick Eyebrows - is still in. Overly plucked eyebrows is still not on trend. Thick, natural and almost boyish brows are in. Runway models showcase their thick brows for fall-winter 2011-2012 catwalk. I love this brows because it makes you look younger and innocent.

4. Accentuated eyes - Liners and mascara, helps accentuate the eyes, fall and winter runway also ramped up the models with enahnce cateye to sculpt the eyes and no lash extension, just dark stumpy clumpy lashes.Smudge dark shadow on the outer corner and under the lower lash line to give it a definition.

5. Various Colored Smokey and Orange-ish shadows - Metallic grey, silvery-blue, purplish and brownish, sea green  smoked eyes. Basically classic version of smokey eyes presented in unusual eyeshadow combination. Not only the traditional smokey eye is present but a new makeup trend with a mix and match of orange shades of shadow.

Review: Cure Aqua Gel

Quick Review about this skin care product I've been using recently.

I've seen this product from two of my favorite YT gurus Bubz and Jen of Frmheadtotoe. I was lucky enough that it is all over Singapore. I tried it and loved it. Take note, it is so different from that old school glue-like cream that was selling like hotcakes before that removes deadskin cells. This is water base and you can really see the effect after washing your face and the next day.

It absorbs my moisturizer better and it really cleans deeply. I use it twice a week and so far I'm loving it!

Playing with palettes

I've been playing with palettes for a few days. I've tried different enchanting, fantasy look. I am preparing for Tey's 2nd leg of photoshoot. She'll be like a sea goddess or mermaid. Whatever Chris decides.

I tried blue and green again being my two fave colors. I tried the eye candy look inspired by one of the youtube guru I've watched but this is with a twist. I won't discuss how I did it. I just wanna show it. Anyways it may not be a wearable type of look for day to day unless you wanna make a scene hehehe.

Green and Blue with glitters.. it looks dirt due to poor lightings hahaha

When I open my eyes here is what it looks like.. I put double wing tip

Another angle whole face looking down

Upclose no unfinished look
In person the eye colors are very bright but my mac camera looks so pale
this is the whole look it was edited the lightings are changed because I wanna show the eyes but it didn't help hehehe

I also did a wearable look using my fave Urban Decay Naked palette and Bare Palette of Sigma. The  everyday look and pin up look with red lips.. I've messed up with the liner bec my son is with me that time

here it is with a shot from my mac webcam

my pin up look but i was so pale but here it doesn look like it.
edited pin up look ive messed up with the right eye liner.
 That's all folks hehehe

Tutorial: Denize and Audrey's look

I did the make up for Denize and Audrey for their photoshoot. They're sisters by the way. Denize wants her look(actually her aunt) to be just like Katy Perry in Fireworks and for Audrey, she likes anything goes as look as it would look chic and sophisticated for her. I've recreate Katy Perry's look in fireworks you can check it here

Let's start with the tutorial for Denize's look first:

I've used Urban Decay for Denize but as an alternative I've give you other shadow color you could use.

If you are going out like a party all night then you have to make sure you prime your eyes to avoid creasing of the shadow or fading.

Step 1: Use a base shadow on your lids, make sure that it is same or a bit lighter that your skin color. Preferably matte (no shimmer or glitter).
Step 2: Dab you lid with either gold shimmery shadow or any cream beige with yellow undertone or gold undertone.
Step 3: Use a matte black or brown black (whatever you prefer) to the outer V of your eyes.. going up to the crease line to give it a definition.
Step 4: Shade your brow bone with a neutral cream or beige with a bit of shimmer for highlight
Step 5: As always blend.

Add black liner on lashline and waterline and finish with mascara.

For the lips Katy has a pinkish maroon tone of lips but Denize wanted an red lips instead.

Here is the look I did for myself.. no lips just the eyes:
My look, no liner yet no false lashes

Here is Denize's finished look:

She's got falsies here

For Audrey's look.. I have no basis so I need to think of something that would fit her facial features
She's got a very nice face shape so small no need for contouring. Her eyes are small with very very tiny almost monolid type.

I've decided to user silver and black.

Step 1: Use a white base shadow on your lids, to make the silver stand out.
Step 2: Apply a bit of dark silver on the lids extending a bit to your crease line.
Step 3: Use a black to the outer V of your eyes.. going up to the crease line to give it a definition.
Step 4: Use the excess black shadow to the 3/4s of the waterline for definition. Then white liner to the 1/4 to make small eyes look bigger.
Step 5: line and smudge the lashline (not tight line) and wing it. It would look a bit loud if we use liquid liner so I've used pencil and black shadow combo. We want it subtle.
Step 6: Shade your brow bone with a neutral cream or beige with a bit of shimmer for highlight
Step 7: As always blend.

Here is the look on Audrey's eyes. She's very pretty with pale pink lips and a pinkish coral blush.

Classic - Audrey Hepburn inspired look

Last Saturday was a blast. Initially, we plan the photoshoot for Tey. But 2 additional teeny bopper joined as well. It was fun.  All girls have their own beauty and style.

The photoshoot for Tey is actually 2 part. We did the first leg last saturday, the classic  50s-60's look. When we say the era of 50's and 60's its gotta be Audrey Hepburn. I really love her in Roman Holiday and most specially as Holly Golightly for Breakfast at Tiffany's. Audrey was wearing a barely-there makeup that time. Wally Westmore was the makeup artist, very popular MUA during those days. He did the make up simple and yet enhancing Audrey's features, focusing more on her eyes which is so beautiful. I love this make up because it characterize the quote "less is more". It is very fresh, all natural look, and Audrey's small slim face made it look more innocent and youthful.

I've made sure Tey's skin is flawless (its easy because she has good skin). Make it more porcelain and dewy finished (not oily). I've focus on her eyes, with black liquid liner, mascara and falsies. Audrey's eyes are really pretty, quite close to Tey's round eyes but not that deep set. Made sure a crease will be enhance and a black upper lash liner would really make her look like she's gone back into the 60s. For the blush, a fresh coral-pink and the lips is just the same.

We couldn't get her hair up here because of the  head dress

More photos:
can't find a colored photo of this
Hair down version

To get this look I've used the following:

Face:
Audrey has a porcelainy- dewey finished face. Back then brozers are not a hip.
Bobbi brown liquid foundation. Alternative: can be any liquid foundation that match your skin or BB cream
Elf liquid concealer for blemishes, marks and pimples. Alternative: any concealer that hides the rashes and other blemish
Benefit  Moon beam highlighter for the areas needed to be highlighted. Alternative: any powder or liquid highlter or pearl shimmer
Mac lose powder to set the face Alternative: any lose powder that will matify the areas that tends to be oily - oily is different from dewy or perspiration ;p
Bobbi Brow blush in rose
Audrey's face is very bare but her shadow is very very light pinky coral so I chose this color. Alternative would be any corally pink blush you have

Eyes:
Audrey's eyes in most of her movie specially breakfast at tiffany's (my fave) doesn't really have a very colorful shimmery eye shadow. It is more of a neutral eyes with liners and falsies
Urban Decay Primer potion - to prevent creasing during the photoshoot

Base - Elope (Sigma Bare Palette) Alternative: any neutral color that is almost the same as your skin tone
- Put the base in the whole of the eye lid socket.
Outer V of the eye to crease - Snoop (Sigma Bare Palette). Alternative: Any light grey Matte finished eyeshadow. This is classic look no need for shimmer.
 - Audrey's eyes is deep set and her eye socket is almost perfect, I've put a very light crease from outer V to the crease of Tey's eyes. You need to make sure you blend the harsh line so it would look more natural.
Bobbi brown gel liner in black. Alternative: Maybelline gel liner.
Coastalscents orginal 88 palette (dark chocolate brown and dark charcoal grey colored shadow)
Japanese brand art liner - (I forgot the name hehe. loving japanese and korean cosmetics product hehehe)
- draw a thin line very close to the lashline where the eyelash roots are to enahnce the eyes. Smudge it with a bit of dark brown and dark grey shadow to make it look natural. Get a bit of dark brown and dark grey shadow and line the water line very gently.
Falsies - Apply false lashes for more brighter eyes. I've used DUO eyelash adhesive (you can buy at sephora)

Lips - Same with the blush its a bit of rosey pink lips and top it with a gloss - I've used Nyx lip liner in natural and Coastal scents lip palette.

This look is very wearable everyday, work, school, office or just hanging out with friends.

Next stop: Fantasy look for Tey - Sea Goddess..

Fireworks - Katy Perry

My churchmate's niece would be celebrating her birthday and wanted a photoshoot as a gift. She was inpired by the "Katy Perry Fireworks" MTV look. I've checked it out and I thought the make up is pretty and simple.

I tried to re-create it before I do Pauline's make up. I'm no Katy Perry so bear with me. She's got bigger round eyes and has bigger lids for more make up. But I thought her make up is suitable for anyone since its got almost 3 layering of shadows. I've got small lids base on the types of crease I've discussed before.

Well here it goes:

KATY PERRY: FIREWORKS

Katy eyes closed

Katy eyes open

Now here's my version. I'm using my imac's camera again.. the lighting's not that great due to shadow hues, anyways you can still see the style of the make up i just focus more on the eye makeu up no face or lips done. I didn't wear false lashes and obviously Katy has one. I've been struggling to put falsies to my own eyes but I can do it to another person's eye without any problem.. perhaps next time.

Here you go:

since I've got an asian eyes this is how it looks when my eyes are open

Editorial - photo

Previously, I've mentioned the type of make up artist in different field. One of which is the Fashion Make Up artist, the one I'd like to become if I've been given a chance before..

Editorial make up is one of the most common make up done with magazines and run way. It is something that you cannot wear everyday. It is not an everyday makeup look. It has concepts and it is more bold, blunt, dramatic and very avant garde. Most of the time it is very colorful, artistic and it uses not just ordinary makeup.

I've tried to create my very first editorial photo makeup. My theme is "make up boo-boos" Green and blue are my favorite color thus I've used this two colors to make my editorial. It took me a few minutes only because the concept should involve the looks of a makeup gone messed up. I've downloaded a few magazine cover from iphone to try how it should look. I'm missing a lot. First, I am just using a camera from a laptop, I've got no falsies that would enhance the do... Anyways It looks less bolder because I don't  have great lightings and camera.. I purposely didn't blend the eye make up that much to make it look like weird makeup. Editorial makeup normally is not a wearable type of make up.. this one looks a bit wearable if you're living on the 80's hehehe....Anyways practice makes perfect.. I'll try to recreate an existing editorial photo next time..

Ulzzang!

I've been hearing this word Ulzzang and I was thinking it was a name of another Kpop all girls group or something like that. I got curious and went on to Mr. Google to check it out. Ulzzang ( EolJjang) pronounced as -OL-Jang/Chang, means "Best Face" in a korean slang word.UIzzang are good looking girls or guys. As defined by Wikipedia, they are person following specific style of fashion. "Eol or Ul" comes from the korean word "Ul-Gool" which means face and "Zzang" which means face.

What do they look like? Well, you would recognize them instantly because of their pretty cute looking face. They have small face and nose and dollish eyes (wide-eyed expression). Their skin is so sublte and smooth like that of a porcelain. Their make up trend emphasizes the eyes more than the face. Most of them have different expressions, from blowfish to wink to half smile to pout what-have-you.

Below are two actress who were popular internet Ulzzang before they became celebrities:
Go/Ku Hye Sun of Boys over Flowers

Go Hye Sun blowfish look
Go Hye Sun  a.k.a Go Jandi

Park Han Byul/Byeol - Original Ulzzang turned actress, she is known to be Sassy Girl's look alike

Park Han Byul doppleganger of Jeon Ji hyun
Blowfish look of PHB

Here is my version of Ulzzang. FYI: I am not trying-hard to be Ulzzang, I just tried to recreate the look.  I have no small face and small thin nose. I don't have round contact lense to make my eyes look bigger. I didn't get a chance to put falsies too. Well anyways just sharing my-so-called Ulzzang look
